MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Mount Tam Biotech Medical Advisory Board includes experienced scientific researchers and clinical practictioners from medicine, public health, pharmacy and biotechnology. 

Dr. Andras Perl, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine, a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as the Division Chief of the Rheumatology Clinic, at Upstate Medical University Hospital. Dr. Perl is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Crouse Hospital and Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Perl is a world expert in rheumatology, immunology, and SLE.

Dr. Perl has more than twenty years of experience working with patients diagnosed with SLE. His research includes successfully using rapamycin to stabilize SLE patients. Despite stabilizing the disease, the therapy has been limited by its compoud’s adverse effects (AE) and serious adverse effects (SAE). Dr. Perl joins Mount Tam Biotech’s Medical Advisory Board in full support of TAM-01 and its development for SLE.

 

Dr. Perl was a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the Director of Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies Center of Excellence. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Henry Kunkel Society, American Association of Immunologists (AAI), American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD). He has dozens of publications and continues to treat adults for arthritis,

Autoimmune diseases, immune abnormalities, nervous System Vascular Lesions, osteoarthritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR), Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma, Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE), Tendonitis, Tennis Elbow and Transverse myelitis.
